Registering on supply can be an unnerving experience when you don't know what to expect. Below are some of the frequently asked questions our registered supply staff were most concerned about, and our assurances that you are in safe hands with the PT team!

"I want to build up my confidence in the classroom but I feel a bit daunted. How will I be supported?"

                                     

Whilst working on a long term assignment through Principal Teachers we won’t just send you to a school and then leave you on your own. We encourage schools to include you with their own professional development but we also invest in additional CPD so that you are never left out. We will regularly check how you are getting on and listen to your feedback. We also provide our supply teachers with a Teacher Toolkit containing essential equipment to prepare you for the classroom!

"I don't know how the process works. What can I expect ?"

If you are invited to interview after completing an online application or after you have applied for one of our vacancies, the registration process is quick and simple!

You can expect a phone call from one of our experienced consultants within 24 hours, who will chat to you about your experience, your ambitions and your availability. If we are confident that we can find you suitable work, we will invite you to our Head Office to complete the registration forms and for an informal face-to-face interview. Having successfully passed this stage, we will apply for your references, process your DBS if applicable and, once your file is clear, start to search for jobs on your behalf.

"I'm not sure if supply work is for me. What can you help me with?"

                                                                    

Unlike other agencies, PT provide an holistic service including: training, work experience placements, long term, short term, day to day and permanent work. If you are an ITT / NQT / RQT we can help you to find work to build up your experience or even a school for you to start your NQT induction year. 

We also provide a free online Quality Assured Training Course to all candidates.

How will you support me during long term bookings?

 

Throughout your assignment, regardless of the duration, you will still remain part of the PT team and we will seek regular feedback from you on how you are getting along at school. Should you require any support we are always willing to help.  

"I'm looking for a permanent job. What if I want to apply for a role at one of your client schools?"

 

We work in partnership with many schools across the region and it may well be that we can match you with long term or permanent positions ourselves. Unlike other agencies we will not prohibit schools from offering you a contract – we will transfer you without any cost to the school once you have completed your initial period of supply (minimum period of 14 weeks). There is no bigger compliment to our team than when we have matched a candidate to a client school and a job offer is made. We even have thank you cards in our office to prove it!
