Information for Schools
Principal Teachers is an Education Recruitment Agency with over 18 years of experience, providing a premium staffing solution to schools and education settings across the Yorkshire and North East regions.
Unlike other agencies, we pride ourselves on the calibre and quality of supply staff that we provide to schools. Through our own Training Academy, we train and develop teachers and support staff so that they are able to deliver the best service possible to our schools, and more importantly offer the best education for the children in their care.
PT Points Scheme and Principal Promise
Principal Teachers guarantee to fill all your bookings. After each booking placed, you will be contacted within 15 minutes to give you
an update on the booking. Confirmation of who will be covering your supply requirement and all safeguarding checks will be emailed to you immediately. For any specialist roles, we will source candidates on your behalf to ensure we get the right person for the job.
Moreover, we wish to thank our schools for their loyalty and have launched a PT Points Scheme where you benefit from every booking by earning points. These points can be exchanged for prizes whenever a goal is reached or they can be saved up for an even bigger prize. Please click on the link to view our PT Points and Principal Promise Brochure to find out more about how your school could benefit.

Quality Assured Promise
From 1st April 2013 the Department for Education’s Quality Mark ceased to exist. Principal Teachers wished to continue its commitment to providing quality supply staff, whilst maintaining the highest standards of compliance. This resulted in Principal Teachers creating their Quality Assurance Promise. The standards are designed to safeguard children first and foremost but also to improve the quality of supply by supporting staff and schools with their needs and to drive up the quality of teaching, supporting and learning.
The standards we promise to adhere to are:
To follow stringent recruitment processes, including face to face interviews
To undertake extensive compliance and background checks including a minimum of two references
To provide a full induction and continued support to all supply teachers
To provide supply staff with the Quality Assured Training course
To maintain regular and on-going compliance checks
To seek feedback from schools and ensure this is used to develop supply teachers
Our Safeguarding and Vetting Procedures:
Principal Teachers are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All of our supply staff are required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and a range of other recruitment vetting checks.
In addition, we also ask all candidates to complete a Safeguarding General Awareness Module to promote best practice and keep candidates up to date with safeguarding policies.
Submit a vacancy
If you have a current vacancy that you would like Principal Teachers to screen candidates for, please contact the head office where your dedicated consultant will be more than happy to assist.
