Start of term pending!

With the end of the summer holidays drawing near and the impending start of the Autumn term nearly upon us, Principal Teachers are still welcoming applications from primary and secondary teachers, teaching assistants and one to one tutors looking for work from September 2010.

We are working on a number of vacancies at schools across North Yorkshire, some of which are offering an immediate start.

Successful End of Year

A big thank you to all our teachers and school representatives who were able to attend our end of term summer ceilidh at the Catterick Bridge Hotel last Saturday. It was lovely to meet, eat, dance and catch up!

Thank you again to all our teachers and teaching assistants who have worked so hard this year. We hope you have a relaxing summer and look forward to catching up with you all in the new academic year.

End of term bash!

To celebrate the end of the term and to say thank you to all our loyal teachers and schools, we are holding a ceilidh at Catterick Bridge hotel on 17th July. PT celebrates its 9th birthday this month. We are now in our 10th year of trading and are moving onwards and upwards, continuing to be the leading provider of teacher supply in North Yorkshire. The York office is gathering momentum and here at PT Headquarters we are extremely busy.

Megan wins XY factor competition - UPDATE

Megan Cordelle (from Applegarth School) beat hundreds of other entries in our XY Factor competition with her anti-bullying song "its another day".

Megan and some of her fellow pupils at Applegarth have now successfully recorded the final version of her anti-bullying song, copies of which can be obtained from Principal Teachers and Applegarth School. Megan"s story has also been publicised on several local news channels. Well done again to Megan.

We would like to wish a Happy New Year to all of our school and teachers. We are looking forward to working with you in 2010.

Currently we have now received all the entries for our recent "XY Factor" competition and the judging is taking place shortly. Winners will be announced within the next few weeks.

Happy Christmas from PT!

This year instead of sending Christmas cards and gifts to our schools and teachers, we have made a substantial donation to Oxfam who are building a library behalf of Principal Teachers in Afghanistan.

The money donated will not only build the library but also train staff to run it and help children to make the most of it by filling it with books and set them up with computers...basically, everything that helps to make a library fine (so to speak).

We are searching for a star!

We are very excited to announce our new competition. We are appealing to children from primary and secondary schools across the region to write the words to a song. We will arrange for a professional songwriter to work with children from the winning school and record the song which will be sold in aid of school funds.

Cartoon competition

We are so excited to be able to unveil the final results of our cartoon competition. The winners were chosen from over 1000 entries and have now been made into a professional show reel. Please click here to see the winning entries come to life. All winning entries won a fantastic webcam and an animation workshop for their school. Well done to all those who took part!

New Office!

Cartoon Competition

We are very excited to announce that judging of our cartoon competition has now taken place and we have three amazing winners and five fantastic runners up. These can now be viewed online here.

Each of the winners will receive a brilliant webcam which are made from natural raw materials with easily recyclable bodies and are produced in a fair trade environment. Plus the school of the winning entries will receive a cartoon workshop where a professional animator (Ben Hall) will bring the winning entry to life. Cartoon Competition

A very big thank you to all those children and schools who entered our Art competition. It has been like Santa"s workshop here in our office, with sackfuls of entries arriving daily.

Ben Hall is very excited about starting the judging process, look out for ebulletins in early January for further updates.

We have done it again!

We are celebrating The Department for Children, Schools and families" decision to renew our Quality Mark! This Quality Mark acknowledges our stringent recruitment procedure and is only awarded to agencies that go over and above the required checks. We are the first agency based in North Yorkshire to get 100% in every audit!

Summer Cocktails...

Thank you to everyone who came to our Summer Party in July. It was a lovely evening and we really enjoyed celebrating the end of year with you all. We were also delighted to see so many photographs in the Darlington and Stockton Times" Social and Personal section ... we hope to add a few more photos to the website in the near future.

Can you help us?

We are urgently looking to recruit teachers to fill immediately available ad-hoc placements aswell as long and short-term placements.

We will pay you 25 pounds for each teacher you refer to us (and we recruit). We are particularly interested in hearing from teachers in the Ripon, Harrogate and Leeds area.

We marked the 7th Birthday of Principal Teachers with afternoon tea (and lots of cake!) last Friday.

We really enjoyed seeing all our teachers and school colleagues - thank you for your help over the last 7 years!
